Kochergen Farms Composting, Inc. was founded by Mike J. Kochergen whose family has been farming in California’s Central Valley for over 70 years. The company remains family owned and operated.
The operation began accepting green waste in 2001 and expanded to include food waste in 2003 to increase the diversion of organic material from California landfills. With the recent introduction of SB 1383, Kochergen Farms Composting, Inc. continues to work with California jurisdictions to meet statewide organic waste diversion goals.
Kochergen Farms Composting, Inc’s compost is OMRI Listed and registered as an Organic Input Material through the CDFA. We conduct monthly lab testing to ensure the highest quality product for our growers. Kochergen Farms Composting, Inc’s compost is a favorite of growers throughout the Central Valley and the Central Coast of California.
